Our Client an International Architectural Firm are looking for a Dynamic Director / Associate Level Architect / Business Development Manager to represent them in Bahrain.  The position will involve pursuing business development opportunities and securing same and the successful candidate will have experience in management, presentation, negotiation, delivery and more. The candidate needs to be personable, self motivated and energetic. The appointment is initially for a period of five months with good long term prospects and an ability to share in their success in the region. The candidate will be based in Bahrain and must be able to take up the position immediately.

Key Business Development responsibilities

  • Responsible for the implementation of a leading edge development strategy that positions the company and its projects in high visibility with prospects, clients, partners, developers etc.
  • Focus on building the company’s positioning as the company expands its existing client base and maximising exposure.
  • Effective marketing support skills and confident in delivering excellent presentations.

Client Networking

  • Strong client focus with the ability and drive to seek out new business opportunities.
  • Gaining a greater understanding of the roles and expectations of clients, building a strong trusting network of relations.
  • Actively seeks to build on our network of clients, developers and partners.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills with ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • Proficient in fee negotiating and cost reporting. 

Requirements:

Architectural Project Leader

  • Design flair with experience in working on large scale complex developments.
  • Creative and can offer alternative design solutions.  
  • Ability to develop a team based culture of commitment and high performance.
  • Confident in exercising appropriate judgement and responding positively to pressure.
  • Effective people management skills with ability to manage conflict maturely.
  • Proficient monitoring of programming of all stages of projects.

General Competencies and Skills

  • Highly motivated with the ability to develop within the role.
  • Highly developed client networking skills.
  • Extremely Proactive with a ‘can do attitude’  and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface with people at all levels.
  • Computer Literacy – proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Competent in Autocad or similar software package.
  • Flexible and adaptable with proven ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Highly organised with proficiency in prioritising competing demands.
  • Confident in working to agreed deadlines within a pressurised environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised qualification (Degree or/and Diploma in Architecture) from recognised University or College. 
  • Membership of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland, (or qualify to be a member) or membership (or qualify to be a member) of a recognised Institute of Architects or Registration Board. e.g. RIBA, AIA, ARCUK. 

Experience:

  • A minimum of 7 years experience at a senior level in an architectural practice.
  • Proven record for attracting and retaining clients is essential.
  • Experience in the residential and commercial sector an advantage.

Reporting relationships and Location:

  • This role will report to Directors of Kompas in Dublin
  • Location Bahrain office.
